MARINE INCIDENT AND DAMAGE INVESTIGATION SURVEY
Northsea Inspection & Survey Sdn Bhd
On July 7, 2024, a 70 metre long cargo ship loaded with steel bound for Kuching, (East Malaysia) from Port Klang, reported engine problems and re-entered the port's waters to seek permission to anchor. In the early morning hours the ship was reported to be unstable due to bad weather and was at risk of sinking. Sekaran Technical Services was requested to send a surveyor to the site to report to the P&I on the situation. Upon its preliminary conditional survey and investigation it provided sufficent confidence to a group of specialist, together with the crew of the ship, to re-boarded the cargo ship to re-stabilise the vessel and carry out repair work by the next day to commence with their sea voyage.
